One of  the biggest things that I learnt while I was on the Be street smart excursion on the 5th of April 2023 Was that is is extremely important to be safe while driving, one small mistake or slip up can cause a fatal accident where you or you friends and family could get injured. Another main point that I learnt was that distractions are very dangerous and you should try to limit any distractions that may be happening while driving or in the passenger seat. These distractions could be anything between mobile phones, weather, people talking and things happening in your surroundings. A final part of the Be street smart excursion that I learnt was how important it is to not submit to peer pressure and you should never be afraid to keep yourself or others safe.

One piece of advice that i would pass on to the young drivers above all else is to not be stupid and change the safe option, even if the other one seems more exciting or faster. It is never a good idea to do something that could result in your friends or yourself being hurt because You will forever feel guilty and could get yourself seriously injured.

I pledge to not do the 4 main things that cause accidents on roads. I pledge that I will never speed, I will never drive under the influence, I will never not wear and seatbelt and I will never drive tired. I pledge to try my best and be as safe as possible whenever I am in the car. I also pledge to be a good passenger and never distract the driver or put them in any danger.
