2020 has been such an unexpected and crazy year with bushfires, droughts, floods and most recently an outbreak of the new coronavirus. COVID-19 had such a big impact on the world and everyone had their own way of adapting to the changes.
With all of the time I had by myself self-isolating at home, I learnt and reflected on what matters most to me.
Personally, I learnt that having I have responsibility and self control when it comes to my own learning and that my siblings and I have lots in common and that we enjoy each others company. I also found that I actually care for my health and fitness when I can’t get my regular exercise done. This is very interesting for me as I have always thought of myself as lazy.
In terms of my family, I got to see how my parents and their work changed just like school changed for me with all of their work being online. Sadly, because I was at home 24/7, more house work had to be done and I found myself helping the family with chore’s more often that before.
In terms of my community, I learnt that many people learnt about the benefits of living near a park and more people went for runs and walks around getting fresh air. As for the school community, I found that those who would be more quiet in physical class, would be the ‘loud’ ones in meetings and chats.
