Food recipe – MUG CAKE

In year 7 food we cooked a variety of tasty and healthy snacks, but the best one by far was the mug cakes. In this entry, I will teach you everything you need to know about making MUG CAKES

WHAT DO YOU NEED????

Utensils:

  • Sieve
  • Bowl
  • Whisk
  • Microwave
  • Cup
  • Pyrex Jug

Food:

1/4 cup Plain Flour

1/4 cup Caster sugar

2 Tablespoons of cocoa powder

1/2 Teaspoon baking powder

60g melted butter

3 Tablespoons of milk

1 egg

1/2 Teaspoon vanilla

30 grams of choc chip

RECIPE:

Step 1: Sift into a bowl the flour, sugar, cocoa powder and baking powder

Step 2: Melt the butter in a Pyrex in the microwave (Tip: Put a tissue over the top of the Pyrex jug to stop it from squirting out)

Step 3: Lightly beat the egg in a bowl and then add the milk, vanilla and melted butter

Step 4: Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ones and mix to give a smooth batter

Step 5: Divide half the batter between two cups

Step 6: Sprinkle the choc chips over and put the rest of the batter on top

Step 7: Cook in the microwave for 1 minute and 20 seconds

Step 8: Let it cool down before serving it with your choice of custard, ice cream or whipped cream.
