Family 20%
Family is the highest percentage on my values house because they are a key to my happiness, my confidence ,and strength though out the day. Family will make me laugh and I always have fun with them if I’m down. They will always lighten the mood at dinners, at home or at the shops with jokes or just being funny. My family helps me believe in myself and boosts my self esteem every day. They always help me with any goal I would like to achieve. They always compliment when I’m dancing even if I do really bad, they comfort me if I feel this way and tell me that people might not notice if I’m on stage. Every morning I have hot food because of my family. They make food for my siblings and myself. This helps me not go hungry or get moody. For me family any comes first because they always help me with anything that is a problem.
Traditions 15%
Tradition help families experience thing that are in there culture and believes each year. Families get to feel and express there family’s culture and there believes from the past. My family’s culture is Chinese and every year we celebrate Chinese new year, lantern festival and more. This helps me connect with my family.
Kindness 15%
Kindness is key to making friend and not being lonely at school or work. For me kindness always help me with making friends. When people is kind to others there kindness will be returned back to them. Random act of kindness will always light someone day. People who show kindness will never be forgotten in the hearts of others.
Task 2
Healthy (IU K-pop/Kdrama, actor and singer)
1. What behaviors does this person demonstrate to show that they are healthy?
My role model, IU is a Korean pop artist based in Korea. What makes IU different from others stars is that she has been named “Nation’s Sweetheart” by the people of Korea. IU also surprises people with her kindness all over the world. IU always shows kindness to people need, like when the Covid outbreak had just started IU donate medical equipment funds for medical staffs or In 2015 IU donated 1000,000 to a charity and choose not to tell the public about it, there was an amazing act of kindness that IU does over the years. This shows that IU is not only famous, she is also kind, helpful and thoughtful. IU wants to show awareness to her fan and Korea about different matters.
2. What do they look like? Are they healthy? How do you know?
IU is Korean with most of the Korean beauty standards. IU was brought up in a poor environment (property). IU’s family had debt out of there control and end up putting them in bankruptcy. Sadly IU’s parents sent IU and her brother to her Grandmother. Some of the conditions they had to live in is heartbreaking, IU and her brother had to live is a small room filled to bugs. Soon IU and her brother moved to other relative’s home. IU was always discourage by her family (relative) every time she sang.
IU has learnt how it feels to be in a poor family or environment and she wants to spread her story to not give up and follow your dream like her (anything can happen).
3. What message does this person promote? Why is it inspiring and healthy?
IU is a role model to many Korean kids all ages with her heart felt songs. She also show kindness though her random acts of kindness (explained in question 1). From my research (not accurate) IU wants to show kids about kindness and her story to help not hurt.
4. Why should young people look up to this person as a role model?
IU is hard working and has big believes that people can’t change. Having someone like that will show them if you want something you will need to work and persist thought hard times like IU to meet there dream. Even though IU might not have a big international following but she still show that to her fans (Uaenas).
5. Thinking back to your House of Values activity, what values does this person demonstrate?
Some of the values that IU has is kindness, love, caring and family.
Kindness because IU always supports people she does not know and she always donate her hard earn money to people who needs it more. Love because she always puts others before her. She also takes care of her brother when he needed it, this show deep love for people. Caring was also explain in love. Family because she shows love to her brother and parents. When IU became a famous singer she could pay her family and buy her dad his dream car that he could not afford.
Unhealthy (Abby Lee Miller)
1.What behaviours does this person demonstrate to show that they are unhealthy?
Abby Lee Miller is most well know for being on the reality show ‘Dance Moms’ staring as the mean dance intruder. In most of the episodes in dance moms Abby Lee Miller is mostly shouting or make rude remarks about her student’s dancing skills. Some of the episodes also have one part where Abby Lee Miller ranks her students by using a pyramid layout. (picture of the pyramid).
In 2015 Abby Lee Miller was charged with fraud after operating a secret bank account between 2012 and 2013. She used that bank account to hide money made with Tv deals, merchandise sales and masterclasses. Then Abby Lee Miller was accused of fake bankruptcy declaration, hiding bankruptcy assets, and bankruptcy fraud. However, she pleaded ‘not guilty’ in November 2015.
2. What do they look like? Do they look unhealthy? How do you know?
Abby Lee Miller is 56 year old who has suffered cancer at the age of 52 (fully recovered). Many articles were posted about Abby Lee Miller’s cancer when the news broke out to the public. Now Abby Lee Miller is posting content on Tik Tok, Instagram, and YouTube. Some of her video contain other content created.
3. What message does this celebrity promote? Why is it unhealthy?

Some of the thing that Abby Lee Miller might be promoting is about dance and the different techniques people must know. Abby Lee Miller wants to promote dance and how fun, she want to show how competitive on the day of competition.
4. Do you think young people should look up to this person as a role model? Why or why not?
I think that kids should not look up to Abby Lee Miller because of the way she treats others. When she was on Dance Moms she made rude comments and always started drama (she also did that outside of the show). Abby Lee miller is mostly known for her shouting rude things or thing that someone needs to improve on in a very rude voice.
5. Is everything you hear, read or see in the media true? Discuss.
All the thing people see online might not be true because people might have changes it to make it more exciting and appealing to read. Even thought there is evidence people still should not jump to conclusions and send hate online.
