My passion project for Innovation and Leadership was learning how to edit videos. I already somewhat know how to edit videos but I was mainly focusing on mastering Premiere Pro. The reason I chose this as my passion project is because my side hustle requires video editing and I’m mainly relying on Sam to do the editing for me.

At the start of the Innovation and Leadership, I signed up for a City of Perth Library membership so I could have access to LinkedIn Learning. This website has thousands of courses on pretty much anything and I started a course on video editing. I used this knowledge to edit a video for Life Skills. It’s not very good because I edited it in around 5 minutes but I edited the audio immensely because I was recording in a noisy classroom.

The only problem with my video editing skill is that, while I can edit audio, I am still horrible at editing videos. I can’t do any visual effects and I barely know how to do transitions. So next, I will start a more detailed course on visual video editing.

All things considered, I feel a lot more confident in video editing, and video editing fast, as evident in my Life Skills video. I’m sure I can bring a lot more to Stand Out Media if I learn how to edit videos better, so I will continue doing courses on LinkedIn Learning.
