Positive relationships are the foundation of any successful classroom. If students are interested in what they are learning and are engaged in the lessons, they will start learning how to create stronger relationships with the teacher and other students. During the past two weeks Kayli, Zippy and I have learnt to work together under a tough schedule to be able to perform a 15-minute play and script. This took a lot of leadership and growing to be able to work together and put in work into the script and rehearsing along with doing other studies. This was the first time I’ve worked with Kayli and Zippy, since I moved English class and had to start over in a new environment to what I was used to, with new people I wasn’t close with. I needed to create a strong relationship with the girls to get through the task, as we had to work together and make an environment where we all were comfortable in and could communicate with each other.

In this task we had to write and preform our own original play that hasn’t been done before. I came up with our chosen issue which was, the consequences for not following Covid rules and restrictions. Some of our focuses were people not wearing a mask, protesting during lockdown, and overbuying. We had a few setbacks as we weren’t sure how to send our message across, with how one person breaking the rules can affect many. We needed to communicate and work together to make this topic come across correctly. Some more issues we had was that we only had two weeks to write, practice and perform and there were a few days people from the group were missing. To solve these issues, I made sure each person in the group had their own role to do and needed to compromise and come up with new solutions so everyone was contributing, and the share of work was even.
