Organised:
Being organised was a key part of camp because you need to be organised to make sure you bring everything you need to the camp and to be prepared to go on camp. An example of being organised during camp was being time efficient, while making dinner we needed to make sure the food was finished before sunset as it is difficult to cook food in the dark. Next time I would work on my time management in the morning because I slept a bit too late. Being organised is important for life because you need to be prepared for problems that might occur so if it does happen, your plans don’t go horribly wrong.

Collaborative:

Not only was being collaborative important to get things done around camp, but it made it a lot more fun. Working with others during the rock climbing was key because we couldn’t start climbing without at least 3 people involved. Collaborating with other people also made it more fun because you could make more friends and meet new people. Another example of collaboration in camp was making dinner, making dinner with others was a lot more effective and was fun as we could talk and relax at the fire. I learnt that being collaborative makes activities a lot more fun and easier. Next time I would be more collaborative with other groups and see if I could help anyone that needs it. Being collaborative is important in life because you might need help from someone to solve a problem you couldn’t solve by yourself

Problem Solving:

Not everything went exactly as planned and without problem solving skills, camp would have been a disaster. One problem that happened at camp was that someone had to join our group as their other group didn’t have enough food. We solved this by dividing our food up more so that we had enough for that extra person. Another problem we encountered was having a scarce amount of wood left when we needed to make dinner on the final night. We solved this by being more efficient. I learnt that you have to think outside the box to solve problems as that was the case for most problems at camp. Problem solving is a very important skill that would definitely help me in every aspect of life after and during school. Problems are inevitable and being able to overcome them is important for work and life in general.

Leave No Trace:

Leave no trace is where you make sure to leave a place that you are staying at in better condition that it was when you get there. It taught me discipline and to make sure that you are responsible because you will have to clean up the mess that you caused. It is also taught respect because you had to respect the environment and the owners of the area. It is important in the future to keep the environment clean and also to show respect.
