Health booklet

This term, I learnt that we use a lot of social media in our life. This can affect how we look at the world and how we look at things. During these lessons, we learnt the lessons of empathy, critical thinking, respect and responsibility. Empathy taught us about thinking how others will feel about our posts and comments, and always being in others shoes. Empathy can also stop us from hurting others and what it looks, sounds and feels like to be empathetic. Even though it may not affect you, it will probably hurt the person that you targeted.
The second lesson that we had was critical thinking, which was about not trusting everything you see on the internet. Always think before you do/post anything.
The third lesson was about respect, where we learnt about making sure that even if we were disagreeing with someone we were respectful of their view and feelings.
The final lesson was on responsibility we learnt about making sure you weren’t a bystander and that you are responsible for your actions and words no matter whether they are good or bad. We also learnt that you should reach out to someone who is experiencing online negative behaviours. The biggest thing I took away from this unit in health was that you should always think before you post something/say something, because it will most likely affect the person. if you wouldn’t go up to them in real life don’t do it online. Think about your action, don’t be a bystander.
