In term 3, week 3 I had year 9 camp, and I was in group 2 in the second week. We had Mr. J with us, the people in my group were, Aedan Bailey, Charlie Harris, Simba Kojima, Mathew Mondello, Mathew Zattella, Makayla Kadir, Jess Ferris, Amelia Luff, Eliza Hill, Chloe Glass, Kate Best. Our camp was in Kalbarri and we camped in multiple places, these were the Kalbarri gorge, the Z bend, and the Kalbarri trailer park. We did activities and cooked for ourselves, we were also split into different tent groups which he could choose.

Cooking

I was in a cooking group with Chloe Glass and Kate Best, we made multiple different meals including gnocchi, noodles, and pasta. On the last night, there was a barbecue which in they cooked burgers. We had roles most of the time, Chloe and I did the cooking while Kate did the chopping and dicing up. We made our own wraps with the supplies we were given for lunch.

Tent groups

I was in a tent group with Aedan Baily, we also had people switching in and out for the first 3 days, on the first night it was Mathew Mondello, the second night was Charlie Harris and on the third night was Mathew Zattella. The rest of the time was just me and Aedan. This was because Simba was only able to stay for 3 nights before having to leave for a karate competition. Aedan and I set up our own tents and we had to carry the tent bags from one campsite to another.

Activities

We did many activities on year 9 camp, these included exploring and swimming in the gorge, teamwork games at the trailer park, and a hike. When we were swimming and exploring the gorge we were soaked by the heavy rains, we also jumped off one of the rocks in the gorge into the river and we climbed on the side of the gorge falling in a few times. We did many teamwork games including a game where we send an egg from one tarp to another. Lastly, we caught some crabs at the sea stacks. all of these were fun in their own rights

Hiking

We did many hikes on the year 9 camp. We hiked into the gorge to explore it, it was fine on the way there especially with abseiling but on the way back we got soaked by the rain and we had to climb a really slippery rock all the way up. On the second hike we went down to the campsite in the gorge, we had to carry our tent gear and cooking gear on our backs with all our clothes and personal supplies. After we camped we did our hike back, we had to climb the gorge’s wall to get up, and after we did it we had our last quick hike to the bus before we were driven back to the trailer park.
