Leadership and Unity on camp

Teamwork is the ability to work with others to achieve success. During my time on Kalbarri camp, I helped others in my group, by providing ideas to the group and contributing to the activity. At camp, everybody had to be involved, for example setting up the tent every day was definitely a challenge. But with the help of my group members, the job was much easier. Another example of when I used teamwork on the camp, was when I volunteered to divide out the food between cooking groups. This allowed other members of our group to do other tasks that were required, this meant that all tasks were fairly shared between our entire group. Using teamwork is definitely a strength of mine and I enjoy working in teams and pulling my weight through the activity.

Whilst on the hike to Four-Ways, I believed that I displayed leadership qualities by guiding the group by being the person who was leading the group from the front. I put my hand up to take the challenge of being a leader, this was challenging for me because I was stepping outside of my comfort zone. During the hike there were times where my friends were feeling a little tired so I encouraged them to keep on going and push forward to our destination. It was also very important that I communicated effectively with the rest of my peers to ensure that we reached the destination safely on time.

Throughout the camp at Kalbarri, I believe that I improved my ability to work as a team member and also my leadership skills were improved. These skills are very beneficial for me to have in everyday life and I am happy that I got the opportunity to experience and use these skills effectively on camp.
