In science this term we have been working on building an earthquake-resistant building out of spaghetti and blu tac. We had to make sure our structure was 30cm by 30cm and 60cm tall, it had to last on a shake table for at least 10 seconds. Before building, we had to design a structure that would work for our group, but it was also important to keep in mind that we had to stay within our $60 budget.
Throughout the assessment, our group worked very well together by all contributing our ideas together and all working hard to come up with a final design. We all had very good problem-solving skills when our building didn’t go to plan, we worked together to restructure our building to make it better. Another skill we were very good at was patience because the spaghetti was very fragile and took time to put everything together and by being patient it helped us stay calm and be gentle with the spaghetti.
