Post Production
To come up with our idea we first searched through YouTube until we came across a video called my strange editions from the TLC channel. The video was about a guy called Nathaniel who was in love with his car (objectophilia). We then did further research on people who have the same case as Nathaniel and found many other cases such as a lady being in love with the Eifel tower and other cases. After deciding on our topic we started preparing. To prepare we started writing a small script then afterwards we created a timeline for the first 4 minutes and we researched and completed our research into our topic. Then we were ready to film.
Production
To make our documentary we used an app names premiere pro which we used to edit our clips and their scenes together. Premier Pro really worked well for us because it made it very easy for me to create and edit our documentary. When making our clips we used cameras and microphones and for B-roll we used voiceovers. To reflect on our production process I feel like we came into some issues when it comes to the filming part of the documentary was most of the lessons we used for filming some of the group would mess around or use the equipment in a bad way. To improve on that we should have made sure that our equipment was always ready to go when we needed it and that it had all the things we required to.
Post Production
When creating the film I was the editor. I was responsible for collecting all the clips and putting them together. I used functions like voice-over and other things to make sure the documentary was good and worked well. I think our work ethic in this part of the project could have been a lot better as our documentary was sort of unfinished and poorly made. Next time we should improve our work ethics. To improve this I would have made sure that we were all doing something rather than some of us doing the work and others not.
Conclusion
The best aspects of our production were the way we gathered information and showed it to the audience. We should have improved on our time organization and the documentary should have been way longer. I learned that staying on task is the most important thing you can do.
