During Semester 2 of 2021, I was privileged enough to participate in the Sustainable Food and Aquaponics InnovatED class. I learnt many different skills and really enjoyed myself.

We all worked on different projects during Semester 2. Building on the knowledge that I gained from Semester 1, my goal was to visually improve the Aquaponics centre. To do this, I decided to paint pots and then plant seedlings in them. This would add colour to the Aquaponics centre and also emphasise what the whole idea of Sustainable Food and Aquaponics was, to use the resources that we already had to create a source of natural resources.

Another activity that I participated in was the harvesting of the trout. This was in the Aquaponics centre where we were taught how to catch the fish, kill them, clean them and then put them in an ice slurry. I learnt so much from this experience and I will forever be grateful.

Period 5 and 6 on a Thursday during Semester 2 of 2021 was one of the highlights of the week for me. I recommend joining this class to any interested younger years. You can learn so much and it is really practical.
