Leadership and Teamwork in the 2021 Footy Season

As a team, we did what we always wanted to do. We won the premiership after starting the season not so well. We worked hard and trained so that we could come out onto that field and put in 100% for the whole game so that we could win.

This season posed challenges and new experiences that we had been unexposed to in years prior to 2021. We were faced with losses that we shouldn’t have had, everything from broken knees to concussions making it seem as if we lost another player every game.

Each new challenge made me work harder, throughout the season I tore ligaments in my ankle twice and missed multiple games but each time I came back stronger and better than before. I wanted to become the best I could possibly be. This meant putting in effort in rehab to re-strengthen everything, working harder than ever before in training, and keeping myself fit in between trainings and games.

I was able to lead people towards getting better in training and working on game situations to get all of our team to play to the best of our abilities. I gave my best effort and attempted to set an example for the less experienced players of the team.

I was faced with more challenges than expected because not only did I get injured but I also was facing fatigue from all the physical activity I was doing and the limited rest periods throughout the season. I took time off some things to get rest and my injuries were almost meant to happen to keep my body from complete exhaustion.

I was part of a team that worked hard in every session and game and leading them was easier than expected. I gave constructive feedback and talked about things they could do to better themselves. I also had the opportunity to help the coaches a few times this year showing leadership through my ability to communicate effectively and use my knowledge of the game.
