Innovat[Ed] Term 3 week 6: Climate Action; Hybrid Trees!

For Term 3 Innovat[Ed], my partner (Katalina Savanyo) and I have a goal to promote/invent hybrid trees that produce more oxygen, absorbs more greenhouse gasses/harmful air chemicals and have a high production rate to improve our environment by promoting the idea inside of school and globally.

So far we’ve found the best trees to hybrid together with at least one of them having the properties of a large greenhouse gas/harmful air chemical consumption, able to adapt to different climates and city environments, not too much maintenance needed and aesthetically pleasing. We’ve also produced dot-points for who to promote the trees to in and outside of school.

What we plan to do next time is to find multiply ways to advertise, targeted at each separate audiences with less/without greenhouse gasses producing. So we’re going to try to avoid digital messages, no paper for less deforestation/greenhouse gasses producing from that and word to word messaging is a bit unreliable as now days people are most likely to socialise online.

Through this term in Innovat[Ed], I’ve learnt a lot more on the differences between each tree, what effects how much each tree absorbs by the size and other reasons. I’ve also become much more aware of what happens around me and how one small purchase, request or action can affect the whole world. I feel that I’ve developed my problem solving a lot more as I’m spotting the flaws in our plan that then leads us to further improve what we’ve done.
