English creative writing: Predator Task

This term, Term 3, we were set the task to create a descriptive paragraph on our chosen predator. In the descriptive paragraph, we used figurative language like alliteration, allusion or oxymoron e.g.

The predator I had chosen was a killer whale, or orca, because the day before I’d read an article that killer whales are now intelligent enough to take down Great white sharks for their nutritious guts! With this predator task, I learnt a new efficient way to improve my piece and that was… feedback!

I’ve found this journey to be the most helpful so far as through feedback I can see how others see my piece from their eyes and this also exercised my empathy.

Next time when I write a creative writing piece or anything else then I’ll make sure to receive constructive feedback to improve my piece and myself.
