About Me

“The two most important days in your life are the day you were born, and the day you find out why.” – Mark Twain

Hi, I’m Sahlia

In this e-portfolio I will tell you a bit about myself, as well as my skills and the things I find challenging.

If I had to describe myself, I would say that I am an empathetic, hard – working and passionate person, that always strives to be the best possible version of myself. I always give everything a go, even if it’s outside of my comfort zone, and I am so grateful for all the opportunities I’ve been given during my life so far. Some examples of opportunities I’ve been given is being able to go to amazing schools all my life, and I’m so grateful for my parents, and how they work so hard to give my brother and I the best possible education.

I have a range of interests, but a few of the things I enjoy most are learning new things, netball, hanging out with my friends and athletics. I have been playing netball for Saint Christopher’s’ since I was six years old, and 2 years ago, I was lucky enough to have made it into FNA (Fremantle Netball Association).

Resilience is being able to bounce back or recover quickly from difficult events you may experience in your life. I think resilience is a very important skill to have, because when things get tough, you pick your self up and keep going, instead of letting your problems overwhelm you. An example of when I had to be resilient was when I failed my math’s test. I had gotten 17% on a Statistics test, and I was so disappointed in myself, as were my parents. I took the feedback that my teacher had given me on board, went home and studied every night leading up to my next test. When I got my scores back on the next test, I had gotten 100%. I was so proud of myself and was happy that I didn’t let my past results define me, and that I bounced back and tried harder to get the outcome I wanted.

Leadership Opportunities

During Primary School, I was given many opportunities to level up and thrive as a leader. In Year 6, I was selected to be one of the two Stirling House Captains. This was an amazing opportunity and helped me grow as a person. I learned to be more confident in front of big crowds, and how to be more proactive and responsible.

My Journey at All Saints’ College

I started my journey at All Saints in 2018, Year 5. Over the past years, I have accomplished a lot and have participated in many things. In 2018 and 2019, I won runner up girl in Athletics. At IPSHA in Year 6, I came 1st in six of my events. I have also participated in things like the SSWA Basketball Competition, Touch Rugby Carnival, Co-Curricular Dance, Robotics and many more. So far, I am really enjoying All Saints and think it is an amazing school that presents a lot of opportunities. I am so grateful to be able to go to such an amazing school that helps us reach our full potentials and become the best versions of ourselves.

In the Future…

For the rest of my schooling life, I am going to work towards having more leadership roles. I am aiming to get good ATAR scores, and hopefully get a job in the medical field. Over the next five years, I am going to work hard to be the best possible version of myself. I hope that after I finish high school and go to University, I will become a Anaesthesiologist, Physio or Doctor. In the future, I want to help people, and specialising in the medical field will let me do so.
