CONCERT PEFORMANCE:

This year at school I was privileged enough to take Dance Performance and Dance Choreography for Semesters 1 and 2 (respectively) this year. In semester 1 I performed at the school’s Dance Concert Performance the ‘Can-can’ and ‘From the Ashes’ as a class. In addition I performed a piece choreographed by Marinah Ebriham, year 12 ATAR dance student which was a contemporary fusion mix called ‘Ultralisim’. We also went to see Scott Elsterman’s ‘Petrushka game, set, match’, a deconstruction and contmepory version of the ballet ‘Petrushka’ in the State Theatre, and wrote a critical review of the piece.

SHOWCASE:

In semester 2 we wrote a critical review on ADT’s ‘Birdbrain’.

We also got into small groups and received a different prompt per group that we had to choreograph and present a piece about at the schools Choreography Night. The prompt my group received was the instructions to an origami giraffe. We first did struggle at first on how we could incorporate this into a piece however we decided to use group formations and the shape of our body to explore the idea of folding paper.

Our costumes were different shades of warm autumn colours and with one long sleeve and other side no slide. Along the long sleeve was cut outs.
