About Me

I am passionate about drama, martial arts, languages and fencing. I love all of these things and practice them whenever possible. I am currently learning Greek, Hebrew and Japanese. Coming from a Jewish family, and teaching at a Jewish school, I constantly have to practice Hebrew to ensure I can provide those that I teach with the best and most relevant Hebrew they need.

I am a member of two separate drama clubs. In one we practice on oral techniques and reciting of poetry. I have been given an A+ in my AMEB Speech and Drama Exam twice in the past three years. The other year, I swallowed a fly, and received an A. The other drama club I am in focuses on more devising and performing on a stage. I have auditioned and performed in several plays many that are unorthodox in the way they are presented. This year my exam syllabus requires the memorization of a piece of a novel and a poem. Along with the preparing of six other poems and an improvised mime. All poems and novels must be prepared by an Australian Author. I love drama because it allows me to express myself creatively and practice my teamwork, which is at the heart of any thing involving acting. Even when it is just me, you have to be open to receiving criticism and try to understand the point of views from others.

I have been fencing for 4 years now and am constantly entering in any competitions possible along with helping younger classes with basic skills. While I do not believe I am the most competent fencer it challenges me in a way and lets me socialize with people outside my normal group. My love of fencing has helped with my organisation skills because I always have to be checking, cleaning and fixing the gear; which despite what most people think requires a lot of technical knowledge.

I have been doing Karate for 7 years, the better half of my life, I am currently one belt away from achieving my full black belt. I love it for the reason that I can challenge myself in a completely different way while also learning discipline. In a weird way I find it relaxing, not necessarily the sparring but knowing that I achieved something when I walk out.

I am happiest when I am doing something I am passionate about with people who share that interest, particularly drama and language learning. I like being able to see an end result and improvement, while the process of getting there is important knowing that you improved and achieved something always makes me happy.
