Welcome!

Memory Video

The project we have been working on is a video that will be submitted to a science competition. The competition is called Sleek Geeks Science Eureka Prize – Primary and Secondary School. The theme we received to base our video on was “change”. After a lot of brainstorming my group decided on making a video about how memories change over time. Our video is informational and includes a variety of information relating to memory. We also included a rap. Our video is related to the theme because we are looking at how memory changes over time. We made it entertaining and fun. Our video will be assessed on the factual information and the entertainment of the video. I am very happy with the outcome of our video and it was a great experience

My group collaborated very well on this project. When we were writing the rap, we all contributed. We also all had at least 2 parts in the video where we were dancing or talking. Each person had a small part that they were responsible for. Overall we had excellent collaboration. The only hiccup we had was on small issues like formatting sound. If we were to do this project again, we should add music and make a schedule of when we want things to be done.

Our group had very few disagreements. The major one was who would have to act and dress as the grandma. No one wanted to embarrass themselves so we ended up deciding that we would just replace it with a different situation. We resolved this issue with almost no arguing so I think it was a good compromise. Our group work very hard and I think we were very successful in our collaboration. The only thing that was unfair was the amount of contribution each person made. There were 2 people doing lots of work in and out of school. And there were the other 2 of the group not contribute as much as the others. To improve our disagreements, we should next time make sure everyone is happy with the story and ideas before we start on the project. We should also share the workload more evenly.

My group managed our time very well in my opinion. Although much of the editing was done in our own time we still achieved everything we desired in our video and more. If maybe we wasted less time in the first few lessons we could have made the audio better in the rap. Also, we should have tried to submit the video prior to the last lesson we had to work on it because we ran into a few problems when submitting it. My group did finish a bit before the other groups which showed how hard we worked.  Overall I think we were one of the best teams in managing our time.

Overall this project was a lot of fun. My favourite part was rapping to our own rap. My least favourite part was dealing with the technical difficulties. I am very proud of the video we submitted!
