Collaboration

Collaboration means working with others in a successful way. It means communicating with others to produce the best work possible. It means bringing to your team your strengths and relying on others to do their part. Participating and working as a team is the main definition of collaborating in my opinion.

Examples of collaboration in English:

  • Current affairs T1 video Isabella, Saya and I created a current affairs video and collaboration was used throughout the whole process from the filming, editing and scripting.
  • Poetry devises posters T3- My table group collaborated to create a poster describing the poetic device of alliteration. We shared our ideas and workload.
  • Short story analysis- Working together to analyse a story. Each of us contributing to make sure we have the best chances in our individual tests.

Learner Agency

Learner agency is being a good learner, meaning-making good choices about my learning. It means asking for feedback and improving based on the feedback you receive. It also means participating in class to have the best results possible. Also, reflect on the activities to see where you can improve. Basically doing your best to learn in the most beneficial way possible.

Examples of learner agency in English:

  • Reflecting on SEQTA after the test- reflecting is a great way I use learner agency to make sure u understand where you can do better.
  • Asking for feedback on assessments- Check with my friends and proof-reading my friend’s work before submitting it to the teacher to get some feedback
  • Participating in class discussions- This helps me to show what I know and contribute to helping others understand as well. (answering questions)
