Injustices in the Australian legal system: John Button

https://portfolio.ascollege.wa.edu.au/ashleigh.smith/files/2021/03/John-Button-re-type.docx

In this project, we learnt about the principles of justice that uphold Australia’s legal system, such as the equal treatment before the law, right to silence, innocent until proven guilty, right to appeal, and impartial judge and jury. I studied the case of John Button and analysed how these principles were both upheld and violated in this case. After writing an essay on the topic, we were required to incorporate feedback and edit the essay so that it was fit for online publication. This essay is the end result of that editing process. It demonstrates my ability to take feedback, and to refine a piece of written work to produce a professional result.

Visual Art Project

In Project X I chose to do Visual Arts. Visual Art is a great way to bring out your creative side and have time to be free and create whatever you like. This term we will be doing pour art which is a style of art where you can create marble effects and ripples and cells by using paint. It might look simple but in reality it is really hard! I am very excited to get started on pour art because I love to create and let my creativity flow over a canvas, which is exactly what we are doing in art! This style of art takes a lot of practice and will also be displayed around the school.
