MUIR- Snorkelling

On Friday 13th March 2020, I went to Rottnest Island aspart of my Outdoor Ed program. We had to be at school by 7am to catch the bus to Fremantle B shed where we got on the Sealink Ferry to Rotto. We walked from the jetty to the Basin where we spent the whole day taking it in turns to snorkel or do an activity on the beach. My friends and I played beach cricket while the other group were out snorkelling. When I was snorkelling the current was pretty strong. We saw lots of different fish and a couple of different types of underwater palnts on the rocks. In preperation for Rottnest we went to Coogee for our double periods on Wednesdays and spent our single periods on a Monday and Friday in the pool. While we were in the pool, we learnt the signals for up(thumbs up), down(thumbs down) and ok above and below the water. While we were at Coogee we saw part of the Maritime Trail including the shipwreck. We saw lots of different fish and even stingrays at Coogee. While snorkelling at both Rottnest and Coogee we had to keep with a buddy for safety.
