Two of my classmates and I collaborated on a newscast on the forthcoming athletics carnival in term three. We had to write a script, arrange each scenario, locate props, film the scenes, and then put it all together with editing software.

We began by working together to create a script that we could use for filming. Once we got the script, we each looked over our lines and planned out how each scene would appear so that we could have a clear sense of how the newscast would look like. We then shot all of our acts over several days, this took a little longer than expected because one of our scenes was accidentally erased from the camera while we were transferring it to our computers. Finally, we had to edit all of our footage together and add transitions, music, and other clips to ensure that the final product was of the finest quality possible.

During this presentation, I was the anchor and the person filming. I began the news by giving an overview of the topic and then closed it by saying what was up next. During scenes when I was not being filmed I was recording the others do their parts. 

I believe the presentation went well because we worked well together as a team and worked through all of the issues we had. We had a lot of problems, one of the most serious of which was that we accidentally erased an entire day’s worth of footage from the camera. This meant that we had to record everything on a different day, which took up some of our time. Another issue we had was that our editing was not very good; we started by editing using Adobe Premiere Pro, but it didn’t work out since we didn’t know how to use it. We then chose to edit it on film, which was much easier and allowed us to complete it on time. Despite the fact that we encountered numerous issues, we were all able to work through them as a team and complete the job to a high standard.

We used and developed a variety of skills during this assignment, including good communication, cooperation, problem-solving, and organisation. All of these features contributed to a better news show as we all could express our individual capabilities towards the project making it better.
