DRAMA ILLUMINATE PERFORMANCE 2022

INSPIRATION

All the groups read out different stories to choose from. In the end my group and a few more groups chose to do Baba Yaga. During the making of the script, my group chose to look at different kinds of kid’s version of the story which made it easier to make a script about and perform the story.

ORGANIZATION

My group and I were organized throughout the entire process of our drama task. We had our script ready a week before it was due and when we got started on our shadow puppets, we left them in one of our lockers so they were safe, instead of leaving them in the box where they could get recked or accidentally stolen from another class.

CRITICAL THINKING

My group and I analysed different kid versions of the story Baba Yaga and tested and created our own very similar version. We worked through the sequence of the story, so it made sense to the viewers and was easy to narrate and puppet.

COMMUNICATION

During the process, my group was able to get everything done in class which meant we didn’t need to communicate about our task outside of our drama class. If we needed to communicate if a member wasn’t here, we would talk to them on teams, but if they weren’t responding it would be ok because we all knew what to do anyway.

ISSUES

My group didn’t have any problems, in the beginning, we had the script done early, so we were able to work on our paper puppets for more time. Some puppets kept falling apart which led to us either needing to remake the shadow puppet or sticky tape the parts back together.

LEADERSHIP AND RESILLIENCE

I think everyone in my group showed both good leadership skills and resilience throughout the whole process of the task.

WHAT I WOULD DO DIFFERENTLY

My group had a lot of time, we also wasted some of that time when people were away because we felt it was ok because we did have enough time, but I do think we should’ve used that time better. I would also like to add music to our performance’s background.
