Work I’m Proud of

I have chosen to discuss Task 2b which required us to create an original poster using visual and persuasive techniques on one of All Saints’ service partners or something else associated with All Saints’. My teacher gave great positive feedback saying that I made

“a sophisticated use of colour and other visual elements, the words are engaging, the layout inviting, and altogether this makes a very cohesive text.”

I am proud of how my final poster turned out as throughout the process of creating it, my design and technology skills greatly improved. I used Canva which is a great program for creating professional posters and I made sure that I made my own original logos, and images. I am proud of how professional and polished my poster looked. I put lots of effort into considering and empathising for the target audience to make a design that would draw their attention and appeal to them.

I believe that this text strongly demonstrates my creativity skills through my original design, logo, and slogan which are all symbolic and have represented a deeper meaning. The main concept in my poster was “growing connections” that customers would have with others if they visited. This was shown through the colours, images and font I used.

The colours I chose were blue, yellow, and green. I used light blue to represent the school’s colours, calmness, and optimism which shows the atmosphere that Wanju has. Yellow also represents happiness and joy. I used green in my poster to symbolise renewal and the life and energy that Wanju brings to their customers. You renew and expand the connections you have and create new connections with others. Green is also a very welcoming colour which makes the ad more pleasing to the eye and draws people’s attention.

For the main image of my advertisement, I chose to put a tree with various pictures in the leaves. I made this decision because it represents the overarching concept of the poster and what your connections would look like if you were at Wanju. Having a less obvious or direct meaning to the image, holds the viewers’ attention for longer. The font that I used also connects to the main image of a tree as it reminds the viewers of a tree’s rings. Listening was also demonstrated in this text when I received feedback on my draft poster. When I received feedback, I made sure that I understood and used it to improve. Problem solving was also shown through this text as I had to solve the problem of making sure that the meaning of the poster was communicated and conveyed to the audience.
