Term 4 $20 Boss

This term me James and Sam came together to create a product that is both fun to make and will make a profit. We started by brainstorming possibilities. This was one of the hardest parts of the process as it took us a while to think of a good product. Once we figured this out we then started a backwards plan so that we can stay on task and stay organised.

What was our product?

Our product was laser cut ornaments such as a kangaroo, surf board and a Christmas tree. Our inspiration for this was that we came up with the idea of doing just surfboards but during our pitch, a teacher gave us the idea to do multiple and have a theme within our products. We then started laser cutting and producing products. Overall this took about three lessons and we managed to produce over 30 products that eventually sold out.

What did we do well?

We were very organised and we got through everything that we wanted to do. We accomplished this by using a backwards plan. The backwards plan helped because we had a clear plan that went through everything for every week. Another thing we did well was our product in general. This is because we sold out at the market and made a profit of 88.70.

What didn’t we do well?

Something that we didn’t do well were the first couple of lessons. In these lessons we did not get as much done as we did in the later weeks. This means that we could have evened out the load of work over the week. This means we could have had more time to do other things. Another thing we didn’t do the best was our stall design. Our design was very basic and ordinary and didn’t draw people in.
