I and Eli recently finished our maths project, for this project we had to choose a problem relating to sustainability and communicate a solution mathematically, we chose to focus on the issue of coal, and we focused on what would be the most beneficial to use in the future, we did this by taking a look at different aspects of energy sources like the cost, how many jobs it would provide, and its death rate. We eventually came to the conclusion that solar and wind would be the best

The project required us to carefully select resources and select graphs that are not biased or misleading. I did this by making sure the graphs that I had to find came from official sources like our world in data, and news sites like vox.

Through this project I learned about how data can be overwhelming at sometimes, when i was looking through graphs there was a lot and sometimes they used measurements which i was unfamiliar with like giga-whatt and tera-whatt hour.

Something that we could have done better was uses abit more data to directly support our decision on what type of energy is the most beneficial and use data to support some of our opinions.

Overall I learned a lot about different sources of energy and some of the pros and cons of each, like how solar energy provides a lot of jobs but is not very effective. The other information I found out was interesting I also learned how to communicate mathematically.
