HASS PROJECT – The Napoleonic Wars (Week 1)

As part of our Year 10 Humanities course, we are able to research a project of our own choice and are required to create a final product to showcase at a final exhibition in Term 4. the topic that my group and I have chosen to research is the Napoleonic wars. Our main focus area is to give a better understanding of all elements of the time period. The steps that we have completed are:

  1. Dividing research into 3 topics: Military, Political and Diplomatic
  2. Find and Source 10 seperate sources that will be relevant in helping us acheive our end result
  3. Starting on a timeline for key parts of the project and setting deadlines for certain elements.

Our plan for continuing this project includes brainstorming ideas for how to present our final product and creating a rough sketch for how it will look on the Exhibition Night.

  1. Sound like a great idea. would you also talk about people’s everyday lifestyle and how there attitudes effected the wars?

  2. I like how you have set deadlines for the specific elements, this shows that you know what needs to be done and that you don’t plan on leaving it to the last minute. I also like how you’ve split the project into 3 subtopics, it’ll make research a lot easier. I definitely think you should get started on the presentation idea, it is a large aspect of the project as your research and topic might be really good but if it isn’t appealing nobodies gonna want to look at it.

  3. I think that the Napoleonic war is a good topic to investigate about because there are so many contents that you and your group can research and learn.

  4. I like how you have divided your research and completed a timeline. Since you are aiming to “give a better understanding of all elements of the time period” I think it will also be useful to also consider other aspects of the war from perspectives not just focused on the three you have already established.

  5. nice. well done. you did this in a lot of depth and have a concrete plan. put some goals on to make it better.

  6. interesting idea, but it would be better if the main focus area was a bit more precise because it is very broad at the moment.
