Fremantle Port Redesign

Fremantle Port is a diverse, culturally rich area with an iconic history that should be respected and admired. It lies deep within the roots of Australian society, but now has come a time of change. Our project is focused on redesigning Fremantle Port, making it a more liveable, sustainable, cleaner and greener place then before. We were allocated groups of 4-5, and were instructed to choose a topic for our redesign.

Our end goal was an attractive Vision Board that portrayed our ideas about Fremantle port, full of images, text, fun interactions, connections to global goals, and liveability factors. Here is our initial Vision Board outline and task delegation.

Our Vision Board Outline

We were instructed to focus on one particular area of Fremantle.

The area we focused on is the area circled in red on the page, near the top right corner.

We wanted an area by the cove or the beach so we would have opportunity to generate tidal, wind and solar energy, powering our sustainable city.

This was our brainstorm, where we were coming up with ideas that were sustainable and relevant to our topic, which was tourism.

These two images our photos of our planning process. First we needed to choose a topic: Tourism. Next we needed to choose a few global goals to link our topic to. Amongst the 6 that we highlighted, we chose economic growth to be our focus.

This was our vision board plan, where we divided the page into sections, to find out where we would be placing which images and text bubbles
