Collaboration-
Throughout Year 8 I feel that I have used collaboration very effectively. I think collaboration is an extremely important capability to have as it helps you to boost your self-esteem and builds your confidence. It also helps you to participate more and have better social skills. I think that collaboration has enhanced all the things I talked about above. One of the major achievements I made through the year was creating the current affairs video. The collaboration side came in this task as we had to firstly talk about what we wanted it to be about, and we all had different ideas that we somehow incorporated throughout. We then had the process of the actual acting and we would tweak around with the scenes with people’s ideas and thoughts. The editing with music etc was all of our opinions combined which is why we were very happy with the end result. Some of the main things that enhanced our collaboration as a group was listening and actually taking in each other’s ideas, taking feedback from peers and teachers which makes your work better quality and verbal communication to understand others better. All these things were incorporated in our video which is what gave us such a high score.
Learner Agency-
As of this year I think that I have used the learner agencies very well. One of the learning agencies is to monitor your progress and get feedback and I think I did this very well as if I needed help on something I wasn’t afraid of asking but I was also opened to getting feedback as I knew it would help me improve on my work now and in the future. Harnessing relationships is also a very important learner agency as it makes it easier to seek for assistance because you feel comfortable with them. One example of when I used some of the learner agencies in my work was when we wrote our short stories for English, and I kept asking Mr Gatti questions and how I could improve and whether or not this was good or needed to be edited etc. This really helped me as I asked for feedback but also towards someone that I had built a relationship with over the past year.
