Dear Mr. Wilson,

I am a student at All Saints College, and I am in the Fremantle Electorate. I want to investigate more into what the parliament is doing to address the issue of climate change. I am concerned that if nothing is done that temperatures will rise 1.5 degrees Celsius.

Is there a proposition in place to help decrease the growth of climate change? Has the parliament actually got a plan about improving this situation of rising temperatures? What new technology is the government going to use to try and lower emissions and support growth in the job industry?

As you would be aware climate change is a serious issue that needs to be fixed. Climate change is rising minimum, maximum, and ocean temperatures. It is affecting the sea levels, if nothing is done about this situation heat waves will become more severe and more frequent around the world. Greenhouse gases are the main cause of this and if the government doesn’t lower co2 emissions the air quality will not be healthy for humans to breathe in, decreasing in human overall health.

In recent times the temperature has risen 0.08 degrees Celsius per decade since the 1880s. The effect that climate change has had on Australia is causing more severe and more frequent droughts, extreme heat, and longer fire seasons. The number of days that have broken heat records in the past 50 years has doubled due to the increase in temperatures caused by climate change.

If we don’t address this situation soon climate change will get out of hand causing the world to overheat. This will impact the food, and the health of all humans, and sea levels will rise to make the beaches erode away. The world will continue to rise in heat each year, it will melt all ice eventually making many animals extinct. If you have the time could you please respond to my letter.

Yours Sincerely

Caitie Arbery
