Arts Involvements

Music

I have been a long-standing participant in many of the College’s choral offerings since I entered the Senior School. I have performed alongside Minor Details (formerly College Voices), Girl’s and College Choir for many years and taken the stage with them for many concerts, serenades, and Twilight Carols. I have also been part of both Eisteddfods they have competed in recent years as well as performing at Presentation Night for 3 consecutive years under them. Another choral involvement has been with the Battle of the Choirs since Year 7. I have been of service for Music by being able to help the O’Connor choir during the battle of choirs in leading sections and choosing the songs. I have also done likewise in my years in the co-curricular choirs by being able to help the younger students in learning our parts. I have shown my commitment to Music as being part of the whole College’s choral activities since I joined ASC. I have been in choirs from Year 6 and continue to show a high level of consistent participation and commitment. I attend relevant rehearsals and take time out of rehearsal times to prepare for upcoming events and performances. For Semester 1 of 2022, I have also received an award as a testament for my efforts in the Music sector.

Drama

I have participated in many drama productions throughout my high school experience over many years. I have been part of ‘A Monster Calls’ (2019), ‘Chaos’ (2020), ‘Blood Brothers’ (2020 – in-class rendition by Stephen Roberts), ‘Mamma Mia’ (2021), ‘We Are The Future Eaters’ (2021) and also the upcoming Year 11/12 production with Sam Nerida. I have been of service to the productions that I have taken part in a small directorial role in lower school productions and also helped the cast and crew in creating parts of the set. My commitment to the drama opportunities presented to us is clear in the various productions I have participated in and my ability to do all while maintaining my school and social lives. I have been consistent in attending all rehearsals and also extending myself to the roles and positions where there were gaps or required extra people. Recognising my involvement, I received a cultural award for Drama at the end of Semester 1 2022.
