Progress Update 2

For the HASS+ project we are able to research a project of our own, and create an outcome to shows in a final exhibition in Term 4. the topic I got was history and have chosen the of the Korean War. So far I have completed my APA bibliography and doing some research for my topic. My enquiry question I am exploring is what created the division between the North and South Korea.

To do my research I have looked at websites, articles, videos and photos to make sure I have a wide variety of information. The Korean War was during the 1950s which created the division between the North and South Korea. This was due to the many different aspects such as the US, China and the Soviet Union. The war was named “forgotten”, but still had an impact on Korea and how it stands today.

Some capabilities I can use during this project:

  • Problem Solving- Using problem solving in case problems arise such as timing and being able to fix it without moving other things around
  • Creative- So I can make my project and make it interesting and visually appealing
  • Organised- Staying organised which means keeping to the timeline so I can complete my project without procrastinating

For my final project, I have chosen to create a model of what was happening during the war, and a poster for information. The ideas for my model is the war battlefield, what they wore and/or the food that they ate. I hope to create a visual representation of the Korean War so people can experience what it was like during those times.

The steps that I have completed so far is made the planning sheet and some research. I have started to organise my research so it is easier to put on the poster. During this project, I have developed the capability of organisation. Since I am doing this project by myself, I have a bit more work I need to complete. This means staying on task and making sure I am organised and getting work done every lesson. I made sure I completed my APA bibliography on time and before the last lesson so I am not too stressed about it. The plan for continuing the project is continuing my research, and making the final project.

  • Choose topic for project
  • Brainstorm ideas for what you want to do/ how it will look like

Week 10:

  • Finish APA bibliography
  • Complete Progress Update 1

Week 1

  • Research information for project
  • Plan what final project will look like

Week 2:

  • Have a detailed plan of final product
  • Complete research

Week 3

  • Make research look nice and in paragraphs for the project
  • Start designing the model

Week 4

  • Start creating components for the project
  • Make research organised and start putting on the poster

Week 5

  • Make sure all the information is on the poster and looks nice
  • complete models for the project

Since it is nearly week 4, I need to start thinking about starting to construct and build the elements for my presentation. My future planning will also include making the poster and making small info cards for people to look at and take if they want to. Some materials I will need is poster paper, clay, paint, cardboard and a table cloth to put my project on. I plan to finish majority of the components and the poster next week, then in week 5 I can do the final touch ups on the project.
