Wayne’s World Reflection

By Gianni Mirco

Q1. After watching “Tulip Mania” (on SeeSaw), can you think of something in your experience / life where the price soars and then drops suddenly?]

Something that has dramatically decreased in price is Ooshies. When they were released everyone wanted them, people sold them online for bucket loads and no-one bought them. Now there useless, but people are still selling them for thousands of dollars.

Who is going to buy this

Q2. After watching “Tulip Mania”, how will you protect the wealth of your City if the World Bank devalues the Red Tulip (or no longer accepts it as a form of payment)?

If the price of tulips decreases, we have a vast quantity of resources such as diamond, gold and iron to protect us from going bankrupt. We can use these resources to trade in for tulips (although that probably won’t be our first option) or trade with other cities for crypto or other resources. We are aiming to convert our little tulips into resources to increase our wealth, just in case the price of tulips decrease, and we will be ready for a possible war.

Q3. Why is it important for Cities to have “cool stuff”, to have “wealth, and to be “inclusive”?

Why?

Coolstuff?

Coolstuff in crucial to let people relax, instead of working all day, our city is building more and more coolstuff to allow our citizens to have a good time and not leave.

Wealth?

Wealth is important because without wealth you can’t buy much. We are the poorest city but we have heaps of resources and even a ravine, which is where we have found most of our resources

Inclusivity?

Who wants to live in a city where there is nothing for them to enjoy? No-one does. That is why we have built many building to include a wide range of people.

Q4. What have you enjoyed about this Inquiry?

I have enjoyed the good times I have had with Callum, although most of the time we were arguing. Wayne’s World has been a great opportunity for us to put our economics knowledge into practice. I have loved playing minecraft but also going in to survival mode😀😎.

Q5. What have you found difficult or frustrating about the Inquiry?  What changes would you make?

The interactions with Callum (My partner for this project) have been very difficult, especially now that were in survival mode. We are arguing over what to buy and build. It has also been difficult, when trying to meet the given requirements, such as a reliable water source and a reliable electricity source. As being the poorest city we have used up most of our tulips to buy blocks, and if we want to be more inclusive we need to start spending our tulips to buy things.
