Over the past few months I have taken part in the college production that this year was a musical, being Mamma Mia. At the end of last year I auditioned and got into the ensemble, where I get to dance and sing in the big numbers. There were numerous rehearsals every Tuesday afternoon and over the holidays, for a few hours at a time, being very time consuming. This was a really fun experience and it taught me work ethic, perseverance and collaboration skills, as these were needed to create a smooth running, performance ready show. At first I wasn’t sure about what to expect, because I have never taken part in a production before, and I now have a greater appreciation, because there is a lot of work and planning needed to go in to it including lighting, acting sciences, dancing, singing, band, puppets etc. The performance itself was amazing and everyone did really well. Although the last to nights got postponed because of COVID-19, we still came together and put everything into it.
