As a part of our Year 10 Humanities course we are able to research a project of our own choice and to create an outcome to showcase at a final exhibition in term 4.

We wanted to do something relating to murders, conspiracies, and something unsolved. We looked into many famous cases and decided on 2 cases in which we are unsure of what to choose between, the murder of Tupac and Biggie or Princess Diana’s death. I looked more into Princess Diana’s death and my partner looked more into the Tupac and Biggie murders. The speculations around Tupac and Biggies murders and Royal’s potential role in Diana’s death sparked an interest in us.

We have completed quite a bit of work in the past few weeks and this has helped us to have a more clear understanding of our topic and the task. We started off by filling in a brainstorm on potential ideas and ways of presenting our final product. We created some questions to help guide our research. Some of these questions included, Who killed Tupac and Biggie? Is Tupac still alive? Why do people believe the Royal family had a role in Diana’s death? What events led to Diana’s death?. Once we had a guide of what to research we started to look for sources to use for our annotated bibliography. We watched an episode of a documentary about Tupac and Biggie, looked into websites and old newsletters. We created an annotated bibliography using 10 sources in APA form and wrote a small summary. I did most of the Diana ones and my partner did most of the Tupac and Biggie ones. The research we did for this bibliography helped us to get a better understanding of our chosen topics. Speculations of how the Royals were involved in Princess Diana’s death circulated around the fact that she had a new relationship with Dodi Fayed who was son of an Egyptian billionaire. Other speculations say that Diana spoke too much and the royal family didn’t approve of it. Lots of people from the public noticed that the events leading up to her death seemed planned and orchestrated. The murder of Tupac and Biggie has yet to charge someone for their deaths. They both were shot but by whom has been an unsolved mystery. Because of the fame they had the public obviously had lots to say and everyone has gathered what they think is true but nothing is confirmed.

Some capabilities we have used in the past couple of weeks we have been working on this project include effective communication and self awareness. As a group we have communicated in an effective way especially at the start of the lessons in order to have a clear plan on what to do. My partner missed a lesson and they caught up due to our communication. Self awareness is something we also used, to make sure we were aware of our work and what needed to be completed by each person in order to stay on task and to make sure we were up to date on the timeline that Mrs Kirkham made.

Things we intend to complete by the end of the term include finishing off the rest of our annoted bibliography sources and choosing a final idea. We only have a couple more annoted bibliographies to finish which we will complete at home and choosing and idea which we would like some feedback on what to choose. Next term we intent on choosing a question to focus our project on and starting to configurate what our final product will look like.
