Capability Development

Some of the capabilities I feel I have developed throughout the year would be to have more inquisitive behaviour, increase collaboration and organisation. In the electives of outdoor Ed, I got the opportunity to experience the experiences of Surfing, Sailing and Diving. All where I had the urge to get better and had the curiosity to learn more about it and overall have a better experience. Throughout these activities and more I also demonstrate my capability at collaboration and organisation. With these excursions and opportunities, we as a class had to work outside our friendship groups and collaborate together to manage a sail on a boat, support each other with individual tasks and collaborate when studying to pass our Skippers Ticket test. Having an excursion every week allows the class and me to show our organisations skills. At the beginning of the year forgot what I had every day for subjects but by the end of the semester and year, I had never missed an excursion and brought everything I needed to for the sessions. When sailing we were divided into 2 roles of sailing on the boat, driver (were you driver and direct the boat in a way where you don’t stop or go the wrong way) and a sail watcher (were you hold and the sail in a way so the wind catches the sail, which enables the boat to move). These roles enabled me and my classmates to develop an increase in collaboration and an increase in my inquisitive behaviour.
