A little bit about me…

Hi, my name is Tejas Morisetty and I currently attend All Saints’ College. I have been at this school for almost 5 years, and I have loved learning new things each day. I started my schooling journey in Scotland when I was 4 but moved to Perth when I was 6. After moving, I first went to Ranford Primary School from Year 1-2 but then moved to All Saints’ and have been there since. All Saints’ have taught a lot of values that I still currently use every day. Using these values, I try to contribute to the All Saints’ community as much as I can.

My Achievements

Some of the achievements I have earned at All Saints’ are:

An image of me as Junior School Captain talking in a Virtual Assembly.
  • Appointed the role of Junior School Captain in 2020
  • Earnt Academic Awards from Year 3-6
  • Was offered an academic scholarship in All Saints for Year 7
  • Appointed Class Representative for Semester 1 of Year 7
  • Represented All Saints in the ‘Have Sum Fun’ maths competition twice and won on both occasions
  • Represented All Saints’ in the Western Australian Junior Olympiad (WAJO)

Interests and Hobbies

I have a wide range of interests and hobbies that I enjoy pursuing in my spare time. These interests can vary from sports to academic subjects to music and so on.

  • Cricket/Badminton: I have had a passion for cricket from a young age. I still recall the first moments of me in front of the television watching a cricket game. As the batsman struck the cricket ball, I remember the immense amount of power required to get it over the boundary ropes and remember wanting to be that powerful. Since then, I am still playing cricket at a club level. However, badminton is a more recent passion of mine that I found a couple of years ago. My dad plays badminton and I attended one of his games. The high intensity of the game was very entertaining to spectate which interested me and I started playing after.
  • Maths/Science: I would say that the subject that I enjoy and yield the best results from is Maths. From a young age, I have felt that Maths was naturally easier to understand than other subjects and I could get a hold of concepts better. Understanding the subject helped me to enjoy it more. Additionally, science inludes a lot of similarities of maths, particularly in the fields of Physics which is my favourite area of Science.
  • Guitar and Music: Guitar has been a significant part of my life ever since I have moved to Perth. When I went to school in Year 1, I saw that many students played an instrument. At that moment, I knew that I wanted to play an instrument but had no clue what. I went to a music school and trialled playing the guitar as it interested me more than other instruments and I instantly enjoyed it. I practised it everyday and increasingly improved. I currently still play guitar and partake in AMEB examinations.
  • Rubik’s Cube: Cubing has been more of a recent hobby of mine. A couple of years ago, I learned how to solve the Rubik’s cube and just stopped for a long period of time. At the start of the year, I looked at my cube and remembered the satisfaction I felt each time I solved it. I tried solving it again but got a much slower time. I kept practising and got faster and faster while learning new methods and algorithms to cut down my time.
