Task 1

This is an image of my house of values. Each value has a certain percentage under it which represents its importance to me.

Leadership

Leadership is a very significant value to me. Throughout my life, I have tried to help people and direct them on the right path. I have taken up many roles of leadership in All Saints such as Junior School Captain in Year 6, Class Representative in Year 7 and Class Representative again in Year 8. Leadership is so important in school, society and in work opportunities as it can help people strive for and achieve their own individual goals and goals within the community.

Personal Fulfillment/Goals

Throughout my entire life, I have always set personal goals for myself. These goals came with the intention to help motivate me to do my best. These goals were created so I can fulfil what I wanted to achieve. I created goals in many different places such as school, in sports or even at home. The goals that I created may have seemed ambitious or unattainable at one stage, but I kept striving to try to achieve these goals and many times I have completed them or have come close.

Family

Family is also another very important value to me. This is because my family has shaped me into the person I am today. I am very grateful for what they have done for me in my life. They have created and given me opportunities to excel in certain skills and aspects such as cricket, badminton and academic opportunities. They have given me support when times were tough. They have also guided me to follow the right direction. In a way, leadership is an important value to me because of my family.

Task 2

Good Role Model: Cristiano Ronaldo

Question 1

Cristiano Ronaldo has many healthy behaviours that make him a good, healthy role model. Some of these qualities include his philanthropic and charitable efforts, his determination to succeed, his confidence in himself, and his work-ethic. These qualities are factors that have helped to strive for his success, which not only benefits himself, but benefits others as well.

Question 2

There are many factors in total that contribute to the health of Ronaldo. Some factual statistics that prove he is healthy is:

Body Fat: 7%

Muscle Mass: 50%

Height: 1.87m

He also trains hard at the gym and swims in his pool after every football game he plays to help maintain his form and shape.

Question 3

Ronaldo has often said many inspirational quotes and speeches to aspiring young fans all over the world. The one that I believe is healthy and inspiring for everyone is:

“I see myself as the best footballer in the world. If you don’t believe you are the best, then you will never achieve all that you are capable of.” He is motivating and encouraging people to have belief in themselves so they are able to be the best that they can be.

Question 4

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best role models for every young person, regardless of what they aspire to be when they grow up. There are many reasons for this due to his incredible abilities and qualities.

Grew Poor: Ronaldo wasn’t the luckiest growing poor due to his family’s financial situation but he didn’t let that stop him. He proved to everyone that with hard work and determination, you are able to do anything. This is good for young fans as they will now have that self-belief is themselves, as long as they work hard.

Apologises for mistakes: Even though a lot of sporting stars make a lot of mistakes, the majority of them don’t even apologise and they just act like they are the best because of their status. However, this isn’t the case with Ronaldo. One time he shouted at his teammates after a loss but openly apologised afterwards saying that it was all heat in the moment. This takes mental courage and strength which others do not have. This is a good influence on all young people.

Gives back to others: Ronaldo is one of the world’s biggest philanthropists. He gives back to people who are less fortunate and in poverty by donating millions to charity. Just one of the many examples of this is when he visited a boy and his family in Indonesia after they were struggling in the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami and Earthquake. They were able to recover and so were many more affected people by the disaster. This is good for young people as they will help people which will bring equality to the world.

Question 5

Cristiano represents and stands for many good values which also coincide with some of my values in my house of values. Some of these values include:

Courage, Ethics, Personal Fulfillment, Teamwork, Excellence, Forgiveness, Respect and Family.

Bad Role Model: Kim Jong Un

Question 1

Kim Jong Un has many unhealthy behaviours that make him a bad, unhealthy role model. Kim Jong Un is the dictator of North Korea who has abused his power and has done many bad, unspeakable things to his citizens. He isn’t caring, calm or considerate to anybody and for the pettiest of crimes comes the biggest of punishments. He stands for nothing but violence, power and authority over everyone, so he can do what he wants.

Question 2

Kim Jong-Un is a very short, overweight man with black hair. From many articles online and around the world we know that his diet is very bad for the human body. Everyday he gorges on unhealthy and highly calorific snacks such as swiss cheese. His diet is so incredibly bad, that he has a team of scientists and doctors to monitor him at all times and makes them develop treatments so that he can continue to eat unhealthily.

Question 3

Kim Jong-Un promotes a bad, horrendous message to all. He has so much power and authority over everyone that he abuses and uses to his own advantage. This corrupt system of government cannot be stopped. He is forcing everyone to do what he wants through violence, threats and fear which when broken, can give the biggest of punishments.

Question 4

Kim Jong-Un is certainly the worst role-model for any young person to look up to. No one should force anybody to do anything outrageous for their own good and advantage which is what he is doing now.

Question 5

Stories and articles in the media can be true or false depending on the source. The North Korean media is being forced by the corrupt government to tell you everything is all fine when in reality it definitely isn’t. However, media from trustworthy sources such as “The New York Times”, or “The Guardian” are true because they have been checked through many times and have gone through many processes. However, sometimes the information in the Media can be a bit misleading since sometimes we don’t know what’s happening as they are in a different country but it is most likely true.
