Chickens

This Semester I was involved with the school chickens for InnovatED. My role in this group was to clean out the chicken coop. Originally, My group ( Ebony, Zoe, Beth, and I) were meant to be running educational lessons for the Year 1s and Year 2s. But, due to Covid restrictions, we were not able to collaborate with the younger years. Instead of doing this, we took on the role of deep cleaning out the coop each week. This role also included making a PowerPoint to send to the younger years because the Chickens are going to be handed down this Year 6s. By being involved with the Chickens I have learned to be collaborative and co operative.

I partially enjoyed doing the chickens. I enjoyed being with a few of my friends but it was also difficult due to Covid and people being away isolating and taking days off due to sickness. In the last couple of weeks taking care of the Chickens my group were able to reach out to Mr Kristie (Dean of Junior School) to ask if we could still show a few kids in the junior school the ropes of how to take care of the chickens. Unfortunatley, it was still pushed back multiple weeks, eventually we were able to have two Year 6s come down and we were able to show them how to take care of the chickens.
