I am currently in the salvo’s café redesign group for term 3. This includes a group of 11 students and the teacher is Ms Winter. The salvos café is located in northbridge and is in definite need of a redesign, it’s goal is to be welcoming to all meaning cheaper prices for the struggling and pay it forward cards. The manager of this café is Glen Miles and we have had a meeting with him inside the café where we were able to ask questions and look around the area for improvements. After all the information was traded and questioned, we went for a walk around the area to look at other competitors and surroundings. We found unique public items, different looking cafes and some of my peers surveyed the public. By being in northbridge it changed my perspective on the cafes ‘vibe’. In the weeks after we visited, we completed a design sprint about the cafe that incorporated who our competitors are, what our goals are and similar things, we also created a Trello, which is an online scrum website. Our ideas so far for the cafes involve painting the outside red and removing some of the old items. We have only a few more weeks left and hopefully, we all use our skills to achieve a successful improvement to the cafe.
