Distracted Driving

This task was to create a campaign targeted towards young drivers about an issue. I chose drink driving because, as we are nearing the age of legal drinking, it is good to keep into consideration the effects too much alcohol can have on us especially whilst behind the wheel.

What are the biggest things you learned whilst at the RACbstreetmsmart excursion?

I learned the risks of driving and how they can effect your life in negative ways.

We were originally showed how looking at a phone can cause a severe crash. Causing deaths injuries and prison time. We were also shown people who have experienced car crashes and what they would of done better, such as wearing a seatbelt and not giving into peer pressure. We were explicitly told that we are 100% at fault if anything happens to us.

What Would One Piece of Advice be for You to Pass on to Young Drivers Above All Else?

My advice would be to follow all the road rules and laws. Many young people think rules are just a boring restraint on the fun they could have. However the rules are there to keep everyone safe, having a liscence or just being in the car comes with a lot of risks, so by following all the rules and regulations, it can allow you to still enjoy yourself just with minimized rick.

My Pledge

I pledge to be a level headed, trustworthy and responsible driver who doesn’t go on their phone, drink and drive or get distracted whilst driving. I chose these to make sure, yourself and other drivers that are on the road are safe. Being level headed means to be calm and sensible by not making risky decisions which could cause a crash. By pledging not to drink and drive, be on my phone and not be distracted whilst driving, it insures I am always alert when behind the wheel. Incase a car pulls infront of me or breaks right infront of me.
