Over the past year and a half, Me, Kerry Cao, Ben Tang and Sunishka Verma have been working on our Lego Mindstorms robot called Timmy. It follows a line and goes around obstacles. It also moves a can out of a green square, at the end. Kerry Cao, programmed Timmy, with some help from Ben Tang. I am the main builder, and have been improving Timmy’s build quality since day one. We went to South Metros, and competition to go to States. We placed Fourth! At states, on the first day, our robot was doing really well. On the third round, our cable came unplugged and we lost major points. This was disappointing, because we didn’t know about the restart option, where we could have re-plugged in the sensor. We placed Fourth in our division, and unfortunately didn’t make it to nationals. We will try again next year, and improve our robot further.
