Taekwondo Grading

I started taking lessons on Taekwondo halfway through Year 5. Now, I am currently a brown belt, and am moving up to brown belt 2 next Sunday at grading. I go to United Martial Arts and Fitness Academy.

There is a process to go to grading. Tip test is when we are tested on our kicking, pattern, fitness/attitude, and our self-defence skills. There are two weeks for tip-testing, and when we get all three stripes, (red for kicking, blue for pattern and self-defense, and yellow for attitude and fitness) we are handed a form to sign to go to grading.

I used to do Karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), and was a green belt. After, I switched to Taekwondo, and restarted from yellow belt. Now, in approximately a year’s time, I will be a black belt. (after red belt)

I really enjoy Taekwondo training, as I have made some friends there and feel that it has really helped me with my martial arts.
