The project my group decided to do was based on the sustainability of solar energy with links to the ‘little sun’ project. We created a powerpoint with grpahs and tables included to group information. We created tables of the effect solar energy has on fossil fuel usage in 2011 and 2019, and then compared this data. We then made a bar graph showing the relationship between solar energy and global CO2 emissions. The final graph we discussed shows how solar has impacted rural areas referring to electrification rate.

Overall, the project went relatively well. The first thing i learnt during this project was just how big of an impact sustainable resources has on the environment, economy and people. For example, solar power decreases carbon emissions and fossil fuel usage, which positively effects the environment’s sustainability in the future, and makes the world more pleasant for people to live in. Solar power also influences the economy as sales of solar panels are constantly increasing, which supplies the economy with profits to invest into more solar energy plants.

Originally, we were going to base our project entirely off of the ‘little sun’ project. However, after we were told the statistics we find would be biased, we changed the idea to be more general on solar energy, but still make some links to the project, as we had already done majority of our work on them. This taught me to always ensure your research remains unbiased and the statistics do not show any favouritism towards an outcome.
