this term I was in a group with myself, sam and henry. We had a decided to make wooden ornaments such as surf boards, christmas tree, waves and santa hats. Some of our products also had text on them. The santa had had Ho Ho Ho written on it and the the surf board said surf. We had also made kangaroos which were our best seller as one of our customers had tried to buy 18 however we hadn’t made that many. Our product was laser cut by the laser cutter in the hanger.

the stuff we had to do

We had about 7 weeks to make and sell our product. First we had to come up with our product for the first week. After that we had to book the laser cutter and then make them. We had to tie rope to them and install propeller signs which were necisarry. After that we had to make posters and signs so that when customers walked pass they would notice our stall

I learned the process businesses need to go through to make a good products and to get people to buy it. I found out how hard it is to come up with a product and to be able to put it into action and sell it. On selling day it was partially nerve racking as we weren’t certain that people would by our product. If this did happen we would have to use our own money to pay back the college which was not appealing. It can also be infuriating when people walk past our product and decide not to buy it however they buy something which we believe is worse. Also being in an area with loads of other groups it gets quite competitive as you want to sell out and so do other groups
