My Reflection on COVID-19

2020 has been a weird year for everyone around the world. Nobody would’ve predicted that a deadly pandemic would rule most of the globe in a matter of months. During this time, everyone faced difficulties and high mountains; some of us are still quarantined.
WA is really lucky that we don’t have many cases, all of us got out of lock down pretty quickly. When in isolation, challenges aside, this pandemic, being a bad thing, has also taught me things about myself and others new things.
Personally, I learnt that I get distracted really easily and I procrastinate a lot. Without an obligation of going to school, I didn’t find much need in studying for tests and finishing homework like I usually do at school. We are really lucky to be living in an age of technology where we can connect with our friends and family.
In terms of my family, I learnt that my parents and I have many more things in common that I thought we had. My siblings and I grew closer because we didn’t have tuition or after school activities. It’s so convenient to have your family around in another room if you need help.
In terms of my community, I learnt that humanity has grown more adaptable. The world changed so quickly an although some people are not abiding by social distancing rules, the rest of us are doing what’s right even though it’s hard. Shops are taking precautions in limiting the amount of people in the store. Restaurants are changing their dine-ins to delivery and take-away.
As a society, we has suffered and learnt, growing along the way. We have discovered new things about ourselves and each other and have applied these things to life after quarantine.
