A piece of work that I’m proud of

The text I’ve chosen to discuss is the short story composition which was Task 8b. We had to create an opening to a short story. Our specific task was to construct the opening, up to the first complication or point of climax, of a narrative text based on original characters in a realistic setting.  Above is an attached copy of my assessment piece. The pencil writing is what my teacher edited.
My teacher, Ms Watt, gave me feedback in Seqta. She wrote in Seqta that she thought I created an engaging text and used different language choices to maintain interest. she also thought my writing ended really strongly and the language conveyed complex meanings in interesting ways. I thought that the feedback my teacher gave me was very fair and I agree with it too.
I thought that my text itself was a creative piece. The text was about a girl who was diagnosed with a heart disease when she was little, but only got serious a few days ago. I liked the way I wrote the ending. I agree with my teacher when she says that my ending was the best part of my story. It fulfilled my aim to write a story about hope and family. In my story, her parents love her dearly and after the exhibition, she finds a new hope.
This story is about overcoming the trials that affect you physically or mentally and to grow stronger in wellbeing. I am proud that I researched different heart diseases for my character and the different symptoms heart disease patients might experience (eg. Chest pain, dizziness). I wanted to empathise with real heart disease patients who suffer day in day out. I tried my best and I am very happy that I scored a satisfactory mark for this assessment.
Some soft skills or attributes I believe were demonstrated in this text was flexibility and empathy. I used flexibility in this assessment because when I asked my peers and teacher for feedback, I would try to incorporate all their ideas into my story without over complicating it or changing anything. I think that these soft skills are really important and I’m happy I used them through my creative writing piece.
