My name is Rohan and I am a person that really enjoys math and science. I strive to be the best possible self I can be. My hobbies include, chess, drawing, cricket, soccer, badminton and volleyball.

As a part of my English in year 8, I have made a paragraph about learner agency:

Collaboration is a capability from the All-Saints College capabilities wheel. There are many things that branch out of collaboration such as, contributing to the group, Using ERIC which I will further talk about, and listening to others. When you think of collaboration you think of everyone working together to achieve something. When collaborating everyone should be doing the same amount of work. There shouldn’t be someone doing most of the work and the others doing nothing, collaboration must be an equal effort between all group members. ERIC is our college values, it stands for:

Empathy,

Respect,

Integrity,

Courage.

These values must be used for collaboration. You must think about other people empathetically if they are not as good as you are at English. You must be respectful to your other group members. You must do the right thing with your group when no one is watching. And you must be courageous in your group to do hard things. Also, when working in a group you must listen to your group members. An example of my group work in English is the current affair group production. In that assessment our group had to show the college values to my teammates, contribute to the group, and listen to the group. You also need learner agency.

Learner Agency relates to a student’s ability to navigate their way through life and positively impact their circumstances. We had to show learner agency in several projects and assessments in English by sourcing resources and using feedback. When doing a project, you must proactively source your own resources and ask for feedback than use your feedback. For example, in the current affair assessment we had to source our own cameras and editing software. We than asked each other and the teacher for feedback and then we used that feedback to make the current affair video better. Using learner agency in assessments can help you get better marks.
